Q: I have a medical condition, what do I need to know about my practice?Ī: First thing you should do is speak with your primary care physician to make sure you are allowed to do physical activities that will involve engaging your core and limb muscles, as well as your joints, in repetitive motions that include lunges and kneels. The more often you come, the faster you will progress but since this is a personal journey, only you can decide what pace of progression you would like. You can come as many times as you’d like. Your practice will be tailored to your pace as safety is of utmost importance to us.Ī: Classes are currently held twice a week, Monday nights and Thursday nights at 7:00pm, for an hour and a half. Q: I am (x) years old, can I still do Iaido?Ī: Yes! We have members of all age ranges. We recommend you do a few classes first before you commit to purchasing uniforms and equipment to see if you wish to stay with it. Q: What should I wear to my first Iaido class?Ī: We recommend clothes that are loose fitting and comfortable to move around in that covers your knees and elbows. Other members will show you around the dojo and you will be given your membership card so you can sign in and track your classes. Members usually begin arriving 20 minutes before class start so they can stretch.
